The highly successful television series ” Inspector Montalbano “, taken from the same name novels of the Sicilian writer Andrea Cammilleri , filmed almost entirely in the province of Ragusa , has to rediscover the general public the beauty of this extreme edge of Sicily , attracting even the attention of some tourism .

Even today are filmed scenes in the cathedral square and streets with a chance to meet the cast.

In fact the link of this land with cinema dates back to the Second World War and prestigious directors have courted.

It was Luigi Zampa who first chose the Iblei, and exactly Modica, for the setting of “Difficult years” based on a novel by Vitaliano Brancati “The old boots”.
